The morning

Two sessions. One morning. Everything working before you leave.

This is not a presentation. You set everything up as we go. By the time we break for coffee, you are already using Claude. By the end of the morning, you have built something real.

Session One

Get set up — properly

Most people who "use Claude" have only scratched the surface. In Session One, we set up everything you actually need: your account, the desktop app, and the three modes that make Claude genuinely useful — Chat for quick thinking, Cowork for long-form work, and Code for automations and repeatable workflows.

You will understand what each mode does, when to use it, and why having all three set up changes how you work.

What you do in this session

  • Create or connect your Claude account
  • Download and configure the Claude desktop app
  • Tour Chat, Cowork, and Code — hands on, not slides
  • Understand the difference between each mode and when to use which
Session Two

Build something that works

In Session Two, you choose the task. We create your first Claude project — a context-rich workspace tailored to your work — and your first Claude skill, a reusable workflow that handles the task you have always wanted to automate.

You do not go home with notes to action later. You leave with both set up and working.

What you do in this session

  • Choose a real task you want to automate — something that eats your time every week
  • Build your first Claude project, with context specific to your role and business
  • Create your first Claude skill — a workflow you can run again and again
  • Leave with everything live and tested
Is this for you?

Ready to stop watching from the sidelines?

This workshop is designed for people who are ready to actually start.

  • You have heard about Claude or AI in general but have not properly got started
  • You run a business or lead a team and there are tasks consuming your time that AI could take off your plate
  • You learn better by doing than by watching — you want someone in the room with you
  • You are based in or near Plymouth and want to learn alongside other local business owners and professionals
This is not the right workshop if you are already building workflows or using Claude daily. There will be more advanced sessions coming — watch this space.

The venue

A proper morning, in a proper space

We are running this at The Block, a coworking and events space inside the Royal William Yard — one of the most beautifully preserved historic naval victualling yards in Europe. Grade I listed buildings, waterfront views, good coffee on the doorstep.

It is a boardroom-style setup: comfortable, professional, and small enough that you are never lost in the crowd. Sixteen people maximum. Light refreshments included.

This is the kind of morning you will actually look forward to.

She currently works as Fractional Head of AI for a UK marketing agency, embedding AI strategy and automation into their day-to-day operations. This is not theory — it is what she does every week, for businesses that look a lot like yours.

Your AI Journey is her AI transformation consultancy. Coffee and Claude is how she brings that work to Plymouth.

Common questions

Before you book

Do I need to have used Claude before?

No. This workshop starts from zero. If you have never opened Claude, you are in exactly the right place.

What should I bring?

Your laptop, your charger, and one task you have always wanted to automate. That is all.

What version of Claude do I need?

We will cover this on the day. A free account is fine to start — you will understand the options by the end of Session One.
